On his second album, Zydeco to Go, Al Rapone turns out an infectious, joyful record, filled with good spirits and great music. The album is firmly in the classic zydeco tradition, spiked with some blues, R&B and Cajun country, and Rapone shines on each of the tracks, as does his supple, sympathetic supporting band. His cousin, Roy L. Chantier, drops in to sing a couple of tracks, turning “Our Hearts Will Dance in Love Again” into a beautiful thing and making sure that “Good Ole Cajun Music” and “Yvette U.B. Dancin'” catch fire. Still, this is Rapone’s show, and he keeps things cooking with his robust accordion and gleeful vocals. All in all, Zydeco to Go is a good-time record that delivers. ~by Thom Owens
